Art On The Square 2012

The Art On The Square 2012 has commenced for the year.  Pretty interesting to see an area go from regular car traffic to fully packed with people and artists over a four day period.  There is so much that goes on behind the scenes to make it happen.  While just showing up you don't fully get how much goes on.  Volunteering for these events gives a different perspective on these events.

There is obviously the planning and getting people to show up and do their thing.  Everything from vendors, sponsors, artists, and volunteers.  Then as the event unfolds, tents have to be setup, food booths, and tieing stuff down.  Over the course of four days there is so much going on.  Mini galas and meet ups and events.

Weather was perfect.  At most we got a few drops on the Sunday evening but nothing that would hinder the event.  Otherwise it was in the upper 80's and sunny for the whole event.  A lesson from throwing boomerangs.  A perfect throw can still be shit if the winds shift.  Applicable to weather and any event.
